Mary Guthrie Obituary
Rochester, NY - Irene Guthrie (Sullivan) of Rochester, NY, formerly of Elmira: Passed away on September 22, 2018 at age 95. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard "Dick" Guthrie and brothers, Ed and Jack Sullivan. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Guthrie and Carol (Joe) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Laura White, Sarah Calabrese, Richard, Grace and Irene Zimmerman; great-grandson, Joshua White; sister, Jean DesJardins; nieces, nephews and friends. Irene touched everyone she knew with her quiet, kind, and caring nature. She truly emulated the words of her favorite song, Let There Be Peace on Earth, and "let it begin with me" describes the essence of how Irene lived her life. She extended peace and love to all. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin Street. We welcome family and friends to celebrate her life with us and gather together afterwards for dinner in her honor. (Interment will be held privately). Donations may be made to the Crest Manor Activities Fund, 6745 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Fairport, New York 14450 or to your local Alzheimer's Association Chapter. We are sending our condolences to the entire family and are so sad to hear of the passing of Irene. She was a wonderful and caring neighbor and friend. We will forever remember Irene and Dick and the laughs we shared.
