Bruce Toyne Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 8, 2017.
It is with great sadness we announce the loss of a much loved man, our beloved Dad and Grandfather, Bruce Toyne, on June 4, 2017 at the age of 66.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Cory Toyne ( Cynthia) and Connie Scerbo (Tom); grandchildren Sabrina Corbeil, Pazia Toyne, Makenna Toyne, Isabelle Toyne, Cali Scerbo, Nick, and Cali Chase; great-grandchild soon to be baby boy; special friend Linda Seaman; brothers Albert Toyne (Annette) and Don Toyne (Nancy); sister Judy Defer; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents Albert and Margaret Toyne and twin grandchildren Oli and Poly Scerbo.

Bruce followed in his father's footprints and had a very successful painting business throughout the 70's, 80's, and 90's but first worked at Transcona Motors for Harry Sucharov where he was a car dealer.

He had many classic vehicles, a couple of his first cars came from Transcona motors, his Gremlin X and Ambassador. He lived out his dream of racing his 68 Cuda 340-S at Bison Dragways and came home with a trophy on September 12, 1971. He also took part in many demolition derbies throughout Manitoba.

He was a very well-liked and respected person by all whom he met and will always be remembered for his great work ethic. Leadership qualities, his meticulous ways and his warm heart.

A private family viewing and cremation was held on June 13, 2017.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Canad Inns Destination Centre, 826 Regent Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bruce's memory to A.A. Manitoba, 1856 Portage Avenue Winnipeg, MB R3J 0G9.
