Bruce Philip Vineyard, Sr., age 80 of Conyers, passed Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was born July 29, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Mary Louise Vineyard and sister, Cheryl Adams. Bruce began working in 1956, at age 14, for McDonald's and worked with them for sixty-three years, becoming a Franchisee. He held track records at his high school in Chicago and played softball in Rockdale County. He donated a lot of time and resources to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Atlanta, the Rockdale Boys and Girls Clubs, and purchased the lighting for Rockdale Youth Baseball and Soccer Associations. When he was not working, he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, bowling, and preparing his exotic cars for national auto shows. Bruce was happiest enjoying the summers in Wisconsin or on the lake with a cooler full of beer. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 2 PM until 5 PM at The Social Goat Tavern 1115 Church St. Covington, GA 30014. The family asks that everyone comes dressed in colorful colors to celebrate Bruce's life well lived. This world is a lesser place for all who knew Bruce. No one was more devoted to his family, and he leaves a remarkable legacy in them, marking his substantial footprints in the sands of this life.

There are never the right words to say when you lose someone you love, but my heart and thoughts are with you all! I loved Papa Bruce for the 18 years that I had the pleasure to work with him on the daily! I´ll miss his smart remarks and then his devilish grin to let me know he was kidding! He always joked on me for wearing flip flops in the winter. Or telling me I sounded like a dying cat when I would sing at my desk. You were an amazing man and we will all miss you Papa!

Lots of love and positive energy to the Vineyard family. Working for Daddy Bruce and Lynn was more than just a job but a family. Reading his life shows his love for people and his community. He left his stamp on this world and although my McDonald´s career did not begin with the Vineyard family, the love and passion for the business did. Much love you Lynn and family. Always in my heart. Rest well big guy. Your infectious smile will be missed. Thank you for taking a chance on a guy you never knew. Sorry Bruce Jr. for the slip covers.

To the BEST DAD in the world...
You taught us about patience, respect, honesty and integrity, accountability and consequences, keeping our room clean (which I never quite got as a kid), cleaning up after ourselves, treating others as you would want to be treated, and many other life values. Philip, Bruce, Juston and I all benefited from your tutelage from an early age, and we are better people because of you!

You also mentored us about Business, and were very proud of our accomplishments. Regardless of the career path we chose, you taught us business ethics, responsibility, passion and pride, and to always give 150%. The Legacy you have left to your family through your hard work and passion for the McDonald's business will carry forward through many generations, and to the communities we live and work in through your Vineyard Family Foundation. You as Patriarch made many sacrifices to provide your family with a good and fruitful life, and we are PROUD of your successes!

Lastly, as our most important lesson, you taught us the importance of FAMILY. We all made more time together over the past several years, always enjoying our Christmases and Thanksgivings together every year, Easter egg hunts, along with celebrating birthdays and your retirement. FAMILY is and always will be important to us. We LOVE you, and we KNOW how much you love us! You will be dearly missed Dad, even with our memories forever in our hearts !!!

May you rest peacefully and enjoy reuniting with Aunt Sherry & Uncle Dan, Grandpa & Grandma, and countless other family members and friends who have gone home before you! We will see you again one day!
