Bruce Howard Ward

CELEBRATING HIS LIFE

Bruce Howard Ward Sr. was born on October 29, 1964 in Gary, IN. He departed this life on September 3, 2025 at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus, OH. He was the son of the late Edward William and Dorothy Jean Ward.

Bruce completed his high school education from Horace Mann High School in Gary, Indiana "The Class of 1984". He played football and ran track. Bruce was a member of the fastest 4 X 100 relay teams in Horace Mann history. He served in the United States Army for twelve years as a supply Non-Commission Officer having assignments in Germany, Korea as well as special assignments in Kuwait.

Bruce was an electrician by trade. He worked for multiple steel mill companies, with the last one being Cleveland-Cliffs Steel. He worked a total of twenty-eight years for these organizations.

He was a proud Chicago Bears fan and could debate with the best of them about whose team was better. Bruce also had a great memory. He was able to quote a specific day and time of an event that happened over forty years ago. That was only one of his many special talents. "DANCING" - He really enjoyed being on the dance floor. At the wonderful age of 60, he still had the moves to move a crowd. He had a great love for comic books and the movies that were depicted and could recite lines verbatim. Bruce enjoyed drawing the characters and at one time wanted to be a cartoonist.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and brother; Edward William Ward Jr.

Bruce leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Bruce Ward Jr., Nashville, TN, and Dominic (Leontae) Ward, Portage IN, five amazing grandchildren Trivelle, Azariah, La'niah, Jerimiah, and Ezra Ward, four sisters, Ethel Lee (Araon) White, Worthington OH, Marsha L. (Gary) Donvan, Reynoldsburg OH, Joann (Jerome) Harris, Blacklick OH, and Katrina (Lloyd) Taylor, Racine WI, three brothers Michael Ward (Carmen Farve), Pickerington OH, Vincent (Karen) Ward, Richmond, VA, and Anothy Hunt, Indianapolis, IN, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
