Bruce Wiggins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 11, 2024.
The angel of eternal life, rest, and peace came to lift the spirit of Bruce D. Wiggins on September 6, 2024. Bruce was born on October 3, 1968 to the late Johnnie B. and Sadie J. Wiggins. He was blessed with sisters Marlena (Rick), Nicole, Sheila (Roman) and brothers Kelly, Aareck & Jay.

He grew up in the Colonial Gardens neighborhood affectionately called "49" of Gary, Indiana attending Kuny Elementary, Bailey Middle, and Lew Wallace High School. After earning a high school diploma from King, Bruce enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, completed training at Camp LeJeune, and developed unique skillsets that contributed to his longevity in diverse environments.

If you asked him where he's from, he'd tell you 5th and he was never too far from friends Chris Youngblood and Orlando Watson. Much like his father, Bruce enjoyed being under the hood of a car, buying & selling cars, and riding motorcycles. Much like his mother, he welcomed a competition of Bid Whist or Dominoes especially with quality music over good food. Bruce loved watching karate movies and riding alone. He would be a listening ear for hours and then pass along wisdom he learned the hard way. Spending time with his grandchildren made him most happy and he will be missed dearly.

I will miss hanging out with my buddy. Bruce was a person you could be around to lift your spirits and would put a smile on your face every time he's around.Bruce was always laughing and joking.Bruce was the definition of a nice guy. Our family's started as neighbors but turned into forever family friends for more than 40 years .We have stayed in touch over the years ,and our Moms continued to be Best friends even though they were miles apart .We stayed friends. I have nothing but great memories of my buddy and friend Bruce. Through the years I have never seen him being unkind sad,nor angry to anyone just always smiling and pleasant to always be around. He was a giving person and always willing to help anyone.I remember as kids Bruce was always bringing me candy or cookies to put a smile on my face. So Ill see you at the Pearly Gates my friend and I know you'll be smiling with a cookie in your hand.

I enjoyed playing games with Bruce and being in the kitchen with him. I´ve always looked up to Bruce as a father figure and remember being so excited when he would come into town for surprise visits. He will be deeply missed and every memory I have of Bruce will be cherished deep in my heart forever. I wish we had more time I do want to express my condolences to the family and loved ones of Bruce. He is a one of a kind human being and we were truly lucky to have him.

To whoever is reading this, the King family wishes you the best on your future endeavors. Thank you.
