To the Woodford family,
Bruce was one of the sweetest, friendliest, and caring men I've ever met. Knew him all through High School. Greeted everyone with that beautiful smile and twinkle in his eyes - such a presence. One couldn't help but be drawn into his fun loving and sincere nature.
Bruce had such a wonderful influence on my life and I will treasure his memory always.

Condolences to the Woodford family at this time of bereavement. I went from Perley kindergarten to Adams Class of 1976 with Bruce. I was so shocked when I heard of his passing. I was so looking forward to seeing him at the Eastside and Adams reunions this year.
He was such a fun guy to be around! He'll be sorely missed!

I just found out about Bruce; I am so surprised and sorry for bad news. My sympathy goes out to his family. I think Bruce was in most of my classes growing up, and he was always just a nice guy that we all enjoyed. I'm sorry he went too soon.

o my gosh, i first met bruce at mckinley grade school and then onto john adams. he had a mini crush on me and we talked daily on the phone after school. such a sweet, kind, funny person he was. i will miss his face. and i am soo sorry his is gone.. r.i.p. my friend..

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. Although I didn't see him often or in a number of years, during his days out dancing, he'd always have a warm smile, a bear hug, and kind words. He will be sorely missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Woodford family during this tough time. My family and I met Bruce in a restaurant in Cabo San Lucas around Christmas in the late 90's. We found out we were all from Marin (Novato and San Quentin), and we all quickly became friends. Over the years, he was a friend of the family, and often went fishing and golfing with my father. He was such a big intimidating looking guy, but he really was just a teddy bear with a big smile. My fondest memory was learning the Macarena dance with him in Cabo, before the dance came to the US. I'm very sad to have learned of his passing. May you find comfort in knowing he touched so many lives.

Dear Molly -
I worked with Bruce in East Block at SQ for 2 or 3 years and learned so much from him just about life and also how to be a Sergeant in CDC. A big man that could scare the crap out of anyone, and then he would smile. Oh that smile. I remember when I first arrived at SQ he was a new Sergeant and I still an officer. I was getting ready for the test and interview and I am sure that what he taught me helped me pass. Then I was fortunate enough to have him as my partner. He went off to become a CC1 and I to the Armory. After I transfered to SAC I learned that he had become ill. I hope that you know that he has left his impression on many of us that had the opportunity to come in contact with him. My thoughts are with you.

I am so saddened by this news...Bruce was one of the friendliest guys I knew back in high school. He knew no strangers and had no enemies, just an all around GOOD guy! I am saddened to hear that Bruce is no longer with us. We graduated from John Adams High School 35 years ago and I have not seen Bruce since then but I am really sad. That shows what kind of person he was. He lived a good life, although it was cut short. May God bless and comfort the family in the days, months and years to come.

Dearest Woodfords, I was saddened to hear about Bruce. My condolences to all of you. When the announcement of our 35th reunion was made, Bruce was one of the first people that came into my mind. I was hoping he would show up so we could share a laugh or two about football. His smile would always lighten the huddle during football season. While this is a very sad time, my heart is warmed by memories of my years with Bruce. I will miss my friend.

My deepest condolences to the Woodford family. I was shocked and saddened to hear this news. Bruce was a friend of mine that I first met while we attended McKinley School in South Bend. He was a gifted person both athletically and in his ability to make friends with just about anyone. I was hoping to catch up with Bruce at our upcoming 35th high school reunion. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer, but I'm sure I will see him again in a better place.
