Bryan and I came to the 43D ASG (which became the 43D Sustainment Brigade) in 2008. We lived in the same barracks for a time and deployed together in 2010-2011.

It was heartbreaking to learn of his passing. I always remember him being a bit quiet, but having a smile. He will be missed.

I didn't know Bryan but we are apparently distantly related through my great, great, great grandmother Phoebe Coffin Jones. We also share service in the Army. I served 1965-72, active and reserve, with time in Vietnam. In any case, I found this site searching for the Coffin family of Adel, Iowa because I have this photo of a Coffin Family reunion in 1917. Phoebe Coffin is probably in the photo. Her daughter Alda Jones; great-granddaughter Belva Macy; great, great grandson James Macy, my father. See photo. I have two more Coffin family photos from early 1900's if some one is interested. [email protected] Sorry for your loss. Jim Macy

The few times I met Bryan I could tell he was kind and fun! What a blessing that he is your family, and that you will see him again. I believe that God knows our hearts. He knows Bryan's heart, and whatever Bryan was struggling with here on earth he is overcoming now, with the help and love of his Savior!

My entire family is so saddened to hear of Bryans passing. We got to know Bryan when he was in high school and was a neighbor and friend of my son Mark. They formed a fast friendship and hung out a lot together. We always enjoyed having Bryan over and we all had so much fun with him. Bryan was always filled with life and respectful to all. What a joy he was to be around. We lost touch when he moved but we can absolutely see why he was such a dedicated soldier. What a patriot! I don't have the words to express our families sympathy towards his death but I do know Bryan is at peace and pain free and our prayer is that the Lord Our God would fill your families with the peace that surpasses all understanding and would draw all of you closer to Him. We love you Bryan

Bryan, you gave so much in your short time on earth. Thank you for your service to our great country. I enjoyed sending packages to you while you were in Afghanistan. I enjoyed seeing you so often at Amanda's and Christopher's house. You always had a smile and a kind word. You will not be forgotten and you will be missed. I know you are now smiling and without pain. I will be watching Gunner for you during your service and we will be cheering for you. Rest in peace, my friend. <3

I don't even know how to express my deepest sympathy to Bryans family and friends. This loss breaks my heart. All of the wonderful memories with Bryan through high school from prom, mud football, fishing, youth group, to just hanging out and everything in between. Every single memory reminds me of all that will be greatly missed. I had always hoped that our families would have become close as we became adults, unfortunately the opportunity was missed. My condolences to Bryans wife son and family. I pray for your comfort and peace through this tragedy.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Sgt. Coffin. Even thou I did not know Bryan, he and my son Adam went to Duran High School together. As a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer and disabled veteran I feel connected to Bryan as a brother in arms. An other fallen solider has gone home to be a guardian for Christ. Gone but not forgotten.

This is such sad news to find out about. Bryan was such a great person. He was a lot of fun growing up. He lived just down the street. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May he rest in peace I'm sure him and Mark are going to be a handful in heaven.
