Bryan Glasscock Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 6, 2010.
Bryan Mitchell Glassock, 31, Florence, Ala., died Sunday, May 2, 2010. The visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will be a graveside service Friday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Dawson Cemetery. A procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. On May 2, 2010, a tragic accident occurred and the loss of a beautiful, loving and kind man. In the 31 years Bryan lived, he brought joy and happiness to everyone he met; he loved to make people laugh. He never went anywhere that would only take a few minutes since everywhere he went someone was there that knew him and wanted to spend time talking to him. He made them all feel special. He loved God and his family, and they were his primary focus in life. Bryan’s second love in life was music. He loved playing the guitar and singing; he had a beautiful voice that carried the love in his heart for his wife, children, brother and mother. Bryan looked up to Quentin, his big brother, and had the deepest respect for him. He knew his brother loved him and would do anything for him. Bryan died with his brother by his side. Bryan had many hobbies: he enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling jokes, building things with his hands and riding horses. He loved grilling out and camping. All the memories he gave his family will be cherished forever. He was attending Northwest Community College to become a registered nurse. He was preceded in death by his son, Baylee Mitchell Glasscock; grandparents, Mary Sue Dawson and Fred Glasscock Sr.; uncles, Michael Lee McCurry Sr., Jeff Kelsey and Rick Wilkins; cousins, Michael Lee McCurry III and Christopher Dawson. He is survived by his mother, Gloria Williams and husband, Terry; father, Fred Glasscock Jr.; daughters, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Raven and Peyton Glasscock, and his wife of 121/2 years, Jennifer Glasscock; brother, Quentin Glasscock; stepbrother, Michael Williams; grandparents, Willard Dawson and Estelle Glasscock; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Quentin Glasscock, James Dawson, Rell Wilkerson, Jeremiah Law, Jeff Olsen and James Watson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bryan Glasscock Memorial Fund at any Bank Independent locations. Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights, is directing.

I didn't know Bryan for very long we met this past fall semester at Nwscc...the first thing he ever said to me was Hey girl every time I see you, you're in a different vehicle...must be nice and he smiled and said my name is Bryan what's yours? I don't think I have ever met a more humorous or loving man in my life. I won't ever forget his smile, his laugh, hearing him sing his songs through the phone when he'd call me, him helping me with writing some of my songs, and just all of the love that you could see around his entire person. He impacted my life more than he knew and when I was down he made me feel like I was someone special. I loved him and wish I had told him what his friendship meant to me but, I didn't get the chance. If I had known that the last time I saw him would be the last time forever I would have said more. So Bryan, I love you darlin and I cherish the friendship we shared. I hope you're driving more than one type of vehicle up and down the golden streets of heaven my friend. I'll see you when I get there all my love. You will forever be my hottie-fer-toddie. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss...My heart and prayers are with you and may God hold you close in your time of sorrow.

I'll never forget the last day I saw you a week prior to your accident. After the usual strangling hug around the neck and a kiss on the cheek, I walked back to my truck. As I got a few feet away you said, per-usual, "hey, Jerry, I love you man" with that famous smirk. I'll miss the six-pack chert road county road drives and the summer time creek swims. Fishin out at Willard's with you and Quentin. The times out at Emerald Quarry, you Quentin and I road around on the four wheeler and fished after work. I could write a book on the adventures we've shared. Need I remind you of East Arkansas? I will always miss your smile and laugh...the fact that you knew someone no matter where we went. Good by my friend and my cousin...you'll all ways be in my heart and your family will always be in my prayers.

I look back to when i first met Bryan it was way back when at the Skate Center i remember him wearing those tie died hyper colored t shirts and/or a silk button up shirt i dont know why i remember that but that's what i remember most that and the big huge beautiful smile he always had on his face. He was a very kind guy who was full of life its sad that the world has lost such a happy and kind person, rest in peace Bryan and be sure to show that big huge smile in heaven.

Bryan was fun to be around-- he took a genuine interest in people and shared a stark honesty with them. He was talented and charming and many will carry memories of him for the rest of their lives. I wish those people my condolences for the pain they are experiencing from losing him. For Bryan's family as well, I feel such deep sorrow for their loss and will keep them in my prayers.

I am going to miss your voice, your smile (those dimples!) and shining eyes, your hugs, your big heart, your laugh. I have such wonderful memories of our years growing up together and I promise that your girls will know how much fun you have always been - ever since my earliest memories, when we were just toddlers. You will always be in my heart and mind. I pray now for the "peace of God that excels all thought" to blanket our family and ease the pain of our great loss. All my love~

This is just a terrible thing to have happen . My heart goes out to all of Byran's family and friends. I know that he had the truth in his heart and he is going to see all his loved ones again someday soon. Bryan was a nice guy a fun and loving person. I don't think i ever saw him when he wasn't laughing or making someone else laugh. Last time i saw him was at an open mic night and he sang a couple of his songs..... he was a very talented young man. I have know his family since i was a teenager ,I have his wonderful grandmother Estelle to thank for introducing me to my wife. My deepest love and respect and heart felt condolences to all for such a sad loss. Maxwell Russell
