HAINES, Bryan William
August 12, 1952 - September 17, 2014
After a courageous battle with cancer, Bryan passed away peacefully in Christina Lake, BC. Left to treasure his memory are his wife Jacqueline, step-daughter Michelle; mother and step-father Lucille and Fred; parents-in- law Odilas and Sirkka; siblings Blaine, Kevin, Dianne, and Michelle, their respective spouses, and other family members. Family and friends remember Bryan for his love of people and his zest for life! Although he left us too soon, we have been touched and enriched by his spirit. Community involvement and leadership were important to Bryan. He proudly directed the National School Kit program for the 1988 Calgary Olympics; organized annual Terry Fox Runs raising funds for cancer Research; and played a lead role in bringing the Rick Hanson Foundation program to Alberta's schools.A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 9 at 5 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 18 Ave. SW, Calgary, followed by a wine and cheese reception at 6:30 p.m. at 2500 Marda Link SW, Calgary. I am saddened by Bryan's passing. He was a team player who really cared about kids and it showed. His sense of humor helped us all.
Sincere condolences

I cherish the 2 and a half years I spent working with Bryan at TB Riley School. Bryan had a big laugh, a huge heart and his love for kids was immeasurable. I can't begin to list the lessons he taught me. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially the love of his life, Jacqueline.

Bryan and Jacqueline were very wonderful neighbours and friends to us in Wentworth Calgary and I am truly saddened to hear that he is no longer among us. He was such a lovely man with a beautiful smile and heart. He will be missed by many. Big hugs of love to Jacqueline during this difficult time from us.
