Bryce ASTLEY Obituary
January 2, 1947 - February 1, 2013
Bryce passed away suddenly Friday, February 1, 2013.
He is fondly remembered by his brother and sisters, Shauna (St. Thomas, ON), Cherle (Red Deer, AB), Terilyn (Ft. Smith, NT), Lael (Edmonton, AB), Verley (Calgary, AB) and Bruce (Edmonton, AB). Special family, Uncle Jack Astley and Babe and Aunt Lydia. Nieces and nephews, Shane, Natasha, Sharma, Jaimie, Cornel, Art, Derek and Dustin. Great- nieces and nephews, Brooklyn, Elly, Careese, AnnaSophia, Ashley, Ceaxna, Finnigan, Holly and Hermione.
Special thanks to John, Darrell, Dean and Suzanne, Dwayne, Len, Mel and Tony, your hospital visits were greatly appreciated.
Bryce started working for his uncle, Russell Hanson, operating heavy equipment, and never looked back. He joined Local 955, Union of Operating Engineers, and continued operating heavy equipment, doing what he did best, looking forward to each work day.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all of Bryce's friends for their support and hospital visits, during this difficult time.
As per Bryce's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. If you wish to say your personal good-bye, Bryce's niche will be located at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132 - 163 Street N.W., Edmonton, AB, in the near future.
In lieu of Floral Tributes, donation may be made in Bryce's name to Canadian Blood Services, 8249 - 114 Street N.W., Edmonton, AB, T6G 2R8 and/or Canadian Cancer Society, 201, 9452 - 51 Avenue N.W., Edmonton, AB, T6E 5A6.

When we had coffee at the end of August, I remember you saying that if you died tomorrow, you had no regrets and you had had a good life. I miss the sound of your diesel pickup. I won't have anyone to tell me to make sure I put my snow bank in the bed of my truck for weight to keep me on the highway on my 1400km drive home to Edmonton. You will be dearly missed. Although I haven't seen any of you in a long time, I always had good visits with Bryce whenever I did see him and we always remembered our times at Rodino school together with your Mom as our teacher. I first got to know Bryce when I started as a Business Agent with IUOE Local 955 in Fort McMurray in 2008. Bryce was a 46 year Local 955 member and was very supportive. He was always respectful and a mentor to the young members. Bryce will be missed by all who knew him. To the family, my deepest condolonces.
