Bryce Lloyd Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 14 to Dec. 15, 2017.
Bryce Craig Lloyd, 48, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Dec. 6, 2017. Bryce was born September 14, 1969 in Pocatello, Idaho.
He spent his childhood growing up and playing in the hills above Portneuf where he loved to ride bikes, motorcycles, and build forts with his brothers. Mink Creek ran through their property and he loved the water and spent many a day fishing and riding horses by the creek.
He also loved spending his summers in Wapello on his Grandpa and Grandma Scott's farm and dairy. His first love was driving tractors and machinery on the farm even after accidentally knocking over a power pole with Grandpa's tractor leaving most of Firth without power.
Bryce served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Stockholm, Sweden mission. He attended Idaho State University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
He met his eternal companion, Angela Cottrell, in January 1992 but they didn't have their first date until Valentine's Day after many weeks of wearing her down.
They were married Dec. 4, 1992. They spent the next four years living and working in Las Vegas, Nevada where their first child, Alexis, was born.
They moved back to Blackfoot for a short time until moving to Moscow, Idaho where Bryce attended and graduated from the University of Idaho Law School.
They moved back to Blackfoot where they made their permanent home to live and raise their children. Bryce served in many callings in the church but his favorite and longest calling was as a Sunday School teacher for the youth.
He cared immensely for the kids he taught and took great happiness through the years watching them tackle and succeed in adulthood. He loved the outdoors, whether it was fly-fishing, steelhead and salmon fishing or riding dirt bikes and four wheelers with his brothers and friends and later on his own boys.
Some of his best memories were the many Harley trips with his wife and his riding buddies. He loved to ski and taught all of his children how.
But possibly his favorite pastimes were the trips with his family in the motor home including the last one they took to Arizona riding jet skis on the Colorado River and visiting the Grand Canyon over Thanksgiving. He recently got his ham radio license and spent many a night talking with his favorite radio buddy, his brother-in-law, Shane, along with the many other friends he made over the radio.
Bryce was an attorney and partner at Blaser, Oleson & Lloyd Chartered. He served on many committees and boards within the community. He was a member of the Idaho State Bar and enjoyed his association with many attorneys all over the state.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; his daughter, Alexis 22; his sons, Logan 19 (currently serving an LDS mission in Alabama), Aidan 16, Gavin 13, and Kian 9; his parents, Craig and Karen Lloyd of Blackfoot; brothers, Ryan (Jodi) Lloyd of Star Valley, Wyo.; Brett Lloyd of Blackfoot; Michael (Sarah) Lloyd of Pocatello; Nathan (Heidi) Lloyd of Pocatello; sisters, Diana (Christopher) Empey of Blackfoot; Christina (Doug) Croxford of Maricopa, Ariz.; father and mother-in-law, Don and Peggy Cottrell of Blackfoot.
He was preceded in death by his niece, Hannah Covington; his grandparents, Dean and Marchey Lloyd and Eldon and Clara Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Blackfoot Stake Center on Highland Dr. The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home and again on Saturday at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery after the service. Bryce's wife, Angela, and his children would like to give a special thanks to the many family and friends that spent cold tireless hours in boats on the water, walking the banks of the river and the drones and planes in the air for finding and bringing Bryce home to us so we could have the closure we so desperately needed.
