Bryce "Tut" Renfro Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 10, 2012.
Bryce "Tut" Renfro, 98, of Lufkin, son of the late Cora and Charlie Renfro, was born May 30, 1914 in Huntington and passed from this life on June 9, 2012 at his home in Lufkin.
Mr. Renfro was in the retail sporting good business and was owner and operator of the War Surplus Store for 21 years. He loved his wife, family and the Lord. He was a kind and gentle man. He was a dignified and generous man and he touched a lot of lives. Fishing and hunting were his hobbies, mainly fishing. He was successful because he could think like a fish. He enjoyed old stories and loved to laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Mae Renfro, whom he married on August 26, 1949; grandson and wife, David Renfro and Marilyn of San Marcos; granddaughter, Darlene Atkinson of Dallas; 3 great-grandsons; daughter-in-law, Shirley Renfro of Houston; sister, Charlcie Wyatt of Pasadena; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Wayne and Martha Wilkerson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryce Wayne Renfro; four sisters; and three brothers.
Serving as pallbearers will be men from Calvary Baptist Church.
Services for Mr. Renfro will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday before the service at Gipson Funeral Home.
