Rev. Buddy (Bud) Gibson Sr., 73, of Kokomo, began his personal escorted tour of heaven on April 23, 2010 at 5:10 AM. Born November 7, 1936 in Pressmans Home, TN, he was the son of the late Hascue Gibson and Betty (Palmer). On January 18, 2001 in Kokomo, he married Nerissa Carol (Ligon), who survives him. He was employed at Chrysler as a pipefitter for 27 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #685,ordained in 1968, attended City Light Church where he lived life loving God and his word. There aren"t enough words to express the kind of blessing he was to his family and friends. He was a great husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, mentor, missionary and Pastor. Above all he was a child of God and lived his life as such spreading God's word. He also enjoyed cooking, construction, and fishing. Survivors include his loving wife Nerissa Gibson of Kokomo; two sons, Curtis (Kenyata) Gibson of Indianapolis, Buddy (Yvette) Gibson Jr. of Kokomo; three daughters, Lisa Wright of Denver, CO, Tina (Patrick) Estrada of Denver, CO, and Tonya (Thomas) Osborn Jr. of Roann, IN; three sisters, Vicki Lawson, Pam (Chris) Holland, Teresa (Steve) Roesler, all of Kokomo; six brothers, Mitch (Sue) Gibson, Ellis (Genieva) Gibson, Homer (Susie) Gibson, Larry Gibson, Garry (Becky) Gibson, all of Kokomo, and Donnie (Kook) Gibson of Colorado; Sisters-in-law, Ta Mara Smith of Kokomo, Da Mita Smith of Kokomo, Renee (Morris) Akins of Ohio, and Patrice Beard of Kokomo ; Brothers-in-law Howard Smith Jr, Kenneth (Suzie) Gaines, Anthony (Donna) Beard, Marcus Beard, all of Kokomo; mother-in-law Addie Smith of Kokomo; fathers-in-law Howard (Cee Cee) Smith Sr. of FL and Martin (Doris) Beard of Kokomo; grandma Christine Ligon of Kokomo; 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren; special godchildren David (Phyllis) Carter; special great niece T’Kyha Smith; special great nephew T.T. Catlett; special friends Boyd Kirby and family and Lazell Brown and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Beverly, and one sister Imo Jean Reich.
