Janice, I ran across your husband's name as I was reading on Workforce Development and I immediately wondered if this was your Burrell. I am so sorry for your loss. I recall how you spoke of the days when you two first met. You spoke with laughter and a smile on your face. My prayers are with you and yours.

Burrell Billingslea was one of the most dynamic, influential teachers I ever had. I took his seminar in African American history as a sophomore at Yale over forty years ago. It was life-changing and hugely inspiring. Burrell lived a life that really mattered. My deepest condolences to his entire family and his family of friends. Rest in peace.

Brother Burrell will truly be missed. I am so glad our lives passed in this journey. He contributed so much in my children lives, being that instrument to start them in their working careers. He was a wonderful person to know.

Burrell was a one of a kind real brother with the Yale education and the street smarts. Trustworthy and loving and committed to his family. I will always remember our commutes together to Atlanta Jr. College (now Atlanta Metropolitan State College). We had fun and those were crazy days. But among the most meaningful ones of my life. I have never forgotten my brother, Burrell, and never will. Sorry to have missed the homecoming but my prayers will go out to the family and all of us who loved Burrell.

"G" and I have nothing but fond memories of Burrell. When hearing about his passing, I immediately thought about how he was always the highlight of the monthly leadership meetings at FOFCI. His sense of humor was outstanding and will be missed.
