BROWN _ C. Eldon C. Eldon Brown passed away peacefully at Extendicare Cedars Villa Nursing Home, Calgary, AB on Friday, September 2, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Eldon was born on the family farm in Morrin, AB on October 12, 1915. Eldon farmed the family homestead until his retirement with an interruption to serve in the military (RCAF) during World War II. He married Jessie Lavers, the love of his life, on August 19, 1944. They enjoyed fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage until Jessie passed away on September 24, 2001. Following their retirement in 1951, the Browns moved to Drumheller, then to Victoria, BC and to Calgary where they spent their remaining years travelling and enjoying friends and family. Eldon, the youngest of nine children, was predeceased by his parents and eight sisters and brothers. He leaves to mourn, his nieces and nephews, Doris Dupont of Olds, AB; Audrey Rackham of Calgary, AB; Helen MacDonald of Calgary, AB; Kenneth (Natalie) Gillrie of Olds, AB; Joyce (Gordon) Springate of Kelowna, BC; Daryl (Rex) Krepps of Nanaimo, BC; Duncan (Sandy) Brown of Spokane, Washington; Jim (Jennifer) Boylan of Medicine Hat, AB; as well as his special friend Joan Cowling of Calgary, AB. A special thank you to Dr. S. Lam and the staff at Extendicare Cedars Villa Nursing Home for their excellent care of Eldon. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Arnie Chamberlain officiating. Interment to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Eldon's name directly to Extendicare Cedars Villa Nursing Home, 3330 - 8 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T3C 0E1.
