Dear Carolyn,
This saddens me to know a mentor of mine has passed. He always had advice and even invited me to your house when I first started to work.
Last week I was thinking of him and my years at Iaeger and Welch. He was responsible for my going to Radford. He stopped to see me on his way to class one night riding a motorcycle. I do want to say thanks to him and my sympathy for the family.

Carolyn, and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Just a week or so ago , I had received the sweetest email from Connie. I had written previously to tell him what an influence he had been on my life and how much of a help he had been to me when I was in college. He will be so missed here on earth but in Heaven there is rejoicing. My prayers are with you and the family. I remember all those years ago when you and Connie were dating and then married. God blessed us to have him in our lives for a season. God Bless you all.

May God Bless each and everyone of the family during this time of loss. May He hold you up through the coming days when friends and neighbors have gone back home and you are left alone with your thoughts and grief. But know that even though there may not be anyone there in the house with you, you are not alone. You will remain in our thoughts, and our prays always and never forget that the Lord is always with you.
"Mr. Bowles" as he will always be remembered by me was a very good teacher and I still remember him rapping me across my knuckles with a ruler for peeping at my typewriter keyboard in typing class. Needless to say, I peeped no more. I learned that keyboard and have been using keyboards in some shape or form ever since. Thanks Mr. Bowles for all that you taught me.

O trust Him in the darkness,
