Cailyn Bassett, 15 of Clinton, passed away December 7, 2012 in Middletown. She was born February 28, 1997 in New Haven. Cailyn is survived by her mother, Stephanie Phillips and her fiancé Lou Correia of Clinton and her father, Brian Bassett of Guilford, sisters, Jada and Angelina, brothers, Matthew and Micheal, maternal grandparents, James and Debra Phillips of Clinton, paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Joan Bassett, aunt, Michelle DeSanto and her husband Tony of S. Carolina, uncles, Ken Bassett and his wife Kriztina of S. Carolina, Doug Bassett and his wife Donna of Vernon, special cousin, Jamie Budzynski and her husband Justin of Georgia and many cousins.

Cailyn was a sophomore at the Morgan High School in Clinton and also attended the VOAG program in Middletown for a short while. She was a talented and gifted writer and artist. She was a beautiful young girl with lots of personality, sass and always had twinkle in her eye. She had a wealth of friends and family, to numerous to mention that loved her just as much she loved them. Cailyn also spent most of her time at the Library after school she loved reading and of course going online and talking with her friends, she was a fan of Pac Man, Mario Bros and Ramen Noodles. Cailyn had a love for animals, she wanted to become a Vet and a writer.

On behalf of Lori Jason and Caden I would like to offer our sincere condolences to Stephanie and her entire family. Cailyn will be sorely missed by many people. I have known her family since I was real little. I grew up in Church with Stepnie Michelle and her Mom and Dad. We both graduated high school together. I would see Cailyn in Church with the youth groups on Thursday. Cailyn was on my wifes school bus for the past 2 school years. Because I work nights my boys rode the bus with her. Both boys adored her. My youngest would run up to her at Church and get a hug. She was also a student teacher in his pre school at the high school. To know what type of person she was is easy, when my wife and boys learned of her passing was heartbreaking. To watch the 3 of them breakdown is a testament to the impact she had on there lives. I know they are not alone, and along with many others will miss her dearly. One last request from my 4 y/o Cailyn he would like you to come down from Heaven to see him 1 last time.

Stephanie please let us know if we can do anything to help you guys out.
