Cameron Baxter Chubb, born October 1, 1993 in San Luis Obispo, California, passed away in a tragic accident on Monday, March 21, 2016 in Avila Beach, California at the age of 22.
Cameron was born in San Luis Obispo and raised on the Central Coast. He attended school in both north and south county, spending most of his elementary years at Grover Beach Elementary, then attending Judkins Jr. High, his first year of high school at Arroyo Grande High, and the remainder of his high school years at Huntington Beach High School, where he made a huge impact not only on the school, but the carbon footprint of the earth. He quickly realized Huntington High did not have a recycling program. He was co-founder and President of the Sustainable Living Club, which ended up being so successful they turned it into an elective. The funds from recycling paper, bottles, and cans was put back into a garden at the school, at Cameron's request. He spent much of his time there. He absolutely loved organic gardening and was excellent at it! His garden will continue to grow at his grandparents house. He was also on the surf team at Huntington High the entire time he was there and loved being in the water. He was absolutely fearless!
He loved working with his hands and was the fastest, most efficient, skilled worker you could hope for. Cameron was the type of guy who got things done! He was also an amazing chef and delighted family and friends with his delicious cooking. He loved being outdoors and camping.
Cameron will be most remembered for his sense of humor, his beautiful and chaotic mind, and his love for family.
Cameron is survived by his mother, Amy Baxter, his father, Christopher Chubb, his brother, United States Navy Sailor Jake Baxter-Chubb, stepmother Rolene Chubb, sisters Lizzie and Alice Chubb, his girlfriend Kayla Phillips and their beautiful baby girl, Cambria Eloise, grandparents Clifford and Carolee Chubb and Patrick and Judy Baxter, too many aunts, uncles, and cousins to count and of course all his friends he counted as family.
You're ok now Chubby. Everything's ok. We love you. Rest easy.

My house is quiet, everyone who was here for the get together after Cameron's graveside service has gone. The quiet is deafening and it's letting things "sink in". Cameron was so special, so unique, he leaves a huge whole no one else can fill. I will love him and miss him for the rest of my life.

Cameron you have gone on to freedom , to a realm of love, peace and understanding that we here can only imagine and long for. Your absence will only make us all that much more excited to be greeted by you and and all those on our welcoming committee when we are called home ourselves. To Jake, may you know wholeheartedly that I am here (as are many others) to make sure that your mom will be alright so please let your mind doing and heart rest easy when duty calls and you are separated from her by distance - she has a wonderful support system...... And to Amy, thank you for letting go me be a part of you and your family's lives no matter the role. I love you all and will continue to pray that all of you are filled with overwhelming peace.
Rest easy Chubb
Love always,

Cameron was many things to many people. For me he will always represent three C's of character: curiosity, creativity and compassion. Obviously, he will be missed. But perhaps more importantly, through each one of us, he will be remembered. Sending my deepest condolences to his closest family and friends. My thoughts are with you.

Cameron chubb, you were one hell of a guy, this is just to devastating, you were always down to earth and nice to everyone that crossed your path, I know you will be looking down and guiding your daughter spiritually, and watching over her and kayla. i just had a baby boy born on the 1/30th, i hope that kayla and cambria stay in Huntington beach when its time for her to go to school that would be rad for them to be in the same school together, i remember sometime senior year we hung out a few times we went to i belive it was kaylas bday party, in long beach, and just remembering how you two were together. you guys were a rad couple. You could tell that you guys had love in your eyes. i remember you always left a heavy tip at any restaurant we went to. i will always remember how generous and caring you were to other people. i remember you and chris love were always the first ones in the parking lot for surf class, i haven't surfed much since high school 5 years ago, i think its time for me to pick the board back up and charge, thank you for always being a bright light for friends, i wish we could have kicked it more. i going to surf every chance i can now because of how inspiring you were. you will be missed dearly chubbs!!! rip some waves in paradise!!!!! -TylerMoszer
