Cameron Leamy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 18, 2025.
Cameron Christopher Leamy of Newington CT, 35, passed away on February 10, 2025, in Turner Falls, Massachusetts. Born on June 13, 1989, in Hartford, Connecticut, Cameron embraced life with a spirit of adventure, the ability to always find the humor in life and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

A graduate of Newington High School in 2007, Cameron had an infectious sense of humor that brought laughter to those around him. Whether sharing a joke or lightening the mood with his quick wit, he had a remarkable ability to make people smile. His adventurous nature led him to explore the beauty of the world around him whether it be kayaking down the Farmington River with friends or hiking scenic trails with his beloved dog Saber.

Cameron is survived by his mother, Brenda Leamy DenOuden of Amston, CT, formerly of Newington CT; brother, Colin Leamy; sister, Hannah Clary both of Newington CT; grandmother, Marilyn Nafis Leamy of Port St Lucie, formerly of Newington CT; uncle, Shawn Leamy of Rocky Hill CT, formerly of Newington CT; and stepfather, Tim Clary of NYC. He was predeceased by his great-grandparents Evelyn and George Nafis and grandfather Rodney Leamy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 29, 2025, from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at Terrazza Restaurant, located at 9 Rose Hill Road in Portland, Connecticut. Ceremony starts at 2:30p followed by a luncheon. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor Cameron's life, love of laughter and adventurous spirit. Cheerful attire and funny stories are requested as we look to celebrate the joy that Cameron brought to those he loved.

Cameron's love for adventure and ability to bring joy to others will be deeply missed. May his memory continue to inspire laughter and discovery in all who knew him.

Cameron and my son Rick were best friends since their early teens. I had a front row seat to the shenanigans those two got up to, and I´m sure there was much more I never knew about!! Cameron was always an "outside of the box" personality who saw the humor in everything!
I´m so sorry for his loss- what an honorable last act saving his best 4 legged friend. I pray Cam is resting in peace and I pray for peace and comfort for those who love him.

One of the nicest guys I knew in high school and most selfless too. His humor, love for animals and nature will live on.

Everyone who has met Cameron has the same things to say about him, and none of it surprises me at all. "Cameron is one of a kind." "Cameron is one of the nicest guys I know." Cameron´s presence brings everyone joy." I´ve met so very many people in my life that it makes my head spin, but Cam stands out as one of the rarest of gems. Always able to take a sad or difficult moment and spin it into hilarity, a gift among the traumas of life. It´s criminally unfair when those who shine so brightly and bring so much joy and laughter to other´s lives are taken from us suddenly and prematurely, and I know we´re all a little bit better for having had him in our lives. Rest easy, brother.

Cameron was really a one of a kind guy. I remember the mischief we would get up to in high school. I always enjoyed seeing his adventures on the river and with his dog. He lived life to the fullest. You will be missed, rest in paradise Cameron.
