In Loving Memory of

Camille G. (Bobbie) Farrington

April 3, 1931 - September 12, 2024

Camille Georgiana Farrington (nee Roberto) of Oakland, California passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2024, surrounded by family members, after a hospitalization for Covid 19. Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Carl Coleman Farrington Jr., Camille is remembered with love by her children Carl (Amy), David (Leslie), Camille (Mark) and Paul (Mary) and grandchildren Dana (Aws), Clare (Alex), Tenaya (James), Tessa, Madeleine, Eli, Devon and Alex. Camille was also the proud great grandmother of Aiden, Arthur, Zoya and Ava. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Rose Burns and Ruth Weiby of Wisconsin, and was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Camille was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the only child of George and Antonette Roberto, and grew up in her grandparents' home in Arlington, Massachusetts. She met Carl after high school (where she picked up the nickname "Bobbie") and the two married in 1953, living first in Illinois where they started their family, and eventually settling in Southern California where they raised their four children. They established life-long friends in their neighborhood and parish, devoted time to political and social causes, and opened their home to exchange students, recent immigrants and loved ones in need. Bobbie went to college after her children were grown, eventually earning a Masters degree in Behavioral Science and working for several years as a health educator. After their careers and some world travel, retirement eventually brought Bobbie and Carl to Northern California where they lived the last stage of their lives closer to children and grandchildren.

Bobbie's life was defined by her warmth, grace and good nature, and her devotion to her family, community, faith and church. Bobbie and Carl's home was filled with good food, a love of music, and joyful times spent around the dining table with family and friends. Bobbie's legacy is one of generosity, dedication, service, gentleness and kindness that touched all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a blessing to her family and community.
