Mr. Torrey was born on February 14, 1933, in Bangor, Maine (a Valentine Baby). He was the son of the late Thomas "Manley" and Irene Torrey. In February of 1950 Bob joined the United States Marine Corps at the early age of 17. In September of 1952, he was given orders to Key West, Florida where he met and married the most beautiful woman in the World, Grace Louise Barroso.

In 1969 Mr. Torrey moved his growing family of nine to Beaufort, SC where he continued to courageously serve our Country for 23 years with tours in both Korea (2) and Vietnam. He was commissioned an officer "Mustang" in Vietnam after his promotion to Master Gunnery Sergeant in 1968. He went on to fulfill his career as a Marine and retired as Captain in 1972. After his Marine Corp retirement, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 16 years. Finally, in 1994, they returned home to their beloved Low Country. They quickly immersed themselves into church serving as co-directors of St. Peter's Perpetual Adoration, Eucharistic Ministers, and many other various volunteer positions for another two plus decades!

Mr. Torrey's passing was preceded by his parents Thomas (Manley) and Irene Torrey, his mother's longtime companion Edward Blackman, Jr., his sister Rosemarie Torrey, and his beloved wife Grace Louise Torrey.

Then I heard a voice from heaven say... "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them." (Rev. 14:13)
