I met Carl in 2005 at Camp Cedar. He asked I played domina and I said no. He shook his head and said damn can't I get one guy who plays bones. We had many talk n probably more arguments. But it was like arguing with my dad. He always made me see his side even though I always believed I was right. We talked about our kids and the funny things they did. He told me some great stories about all of you and he always had the biggest smile afterwards. He truly loved each and everyone of you.he brought sooo much joy to us all. So I will say see ya soon "Old Timer"

I would like to send my deepest grief moment to the Buchanan family. Carl was a strong and courageous man who had a sense of humor that would have anyone in a crowd laughing with joy. Carl was a family man to his immediately family, and also to his military family. I ask that God gives the Buchanan family the strength in the time of sorrow, for we know God makes no mistakes. Let us all remember the good times that we all shared with Carl.

Carl Buchanan and the Buchanan Family: May the precious blood of Jesus be with you all in this time of sorrow. SSG Buchanan was an excellent solider, one that served with dignity and honor, I am proud to have served with along side of you during or Hunter AAF days. You encouraged us all, whipped our butts in dominos, gave us hope and wisdom all at the same time. You will be truely missed and may the Lord continue to be with you and your great family that's to remember you forever more.

He was a great man of knowledge and wisdom, funny and a great person to be around. I work for Carl in Southern Iraq and I learned alot of things from him during that time. My prayers and heart are with his wife and family, he will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in the peace of GOD Carl "Cool C" Bachanan.

I didn't get the chance to meet Mr. Buchanan, but I have heard great things about him through his daughter, Shay. In our own conversations, Shay allowed me to see a different side to situations and how people are. She credits the civility of her mother and the intellect of her father as influences in her walk of life. I feel like I can envision Mr. Buchanan vividly because of Shay’s love and understanding.
