Carl E. Dillard, 68, passed away on February 26, 2025. Born on May 3, 1956, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Carl lived a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, and heartfelt generosity. Carl was the beloved husband of Shandel Johnston Dillard of Franklinton. Together 20 years of their life stood as a testament to enduring love, mutual devotion, and shared joy. Together with his Wife, Shandel. Fishing was a favorite pastime. Carl had been known to say, "He didn't just find the love of his life, he found a fishing partner for life!"

He also shared meaningful bonds with his stepdaughter Ariel Wilson Krohn and her partner Caluph Allison of Franklinton, as well as his stepson Nigel "Paul" Wilson and his partner Jourdan Rapaport of Clearwater, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mae Lirette of Hahnville, Louisiana, and his father, William Riley Dillard of Pearl River.

And he always made time for the Races. Races of any kind, Drag racing, NASCAR, especially accompanying Shandel to the dirt track races in Talisheek. He also enjoyed a good BBQ or just sitting by the fire drinking a cold beer. A Celebration of Life honoring Carl will be held on July 4, 2025, from 9:00 AM to midnight at the home Carl and Shandel shared: 54344 Highway 10, Franklinton, Louisiana 70438. Sustenance and Spirits will be served;

Side dishes or desserts are welcome at any gathering. Drink preference BOYB. We ask if anyone has pictures or albums featuring Carl, that you bring with you in remembering Carl, the love of Shandel's life. A Midnight Vigil will close the celebration with a moment of silence for Carl Dillard beloved husband and Father.
