Carl Frederick Farman

1925-2012 Fred passed away in his 86th year on July 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's and cancer. He is very much loved and missed by his wife of 56 years, Betty, daughters, Denni (Ed), Lisa, precious grandchildren Justin (Neestlje), Carleigh (Kevin) and companion Bailey. Fred was born in Vancouver and served his country in Belgium and Holland from 1944-46. After the war he began a long career as a Longshoreman on the West Coast of British Columbia. Over the years, his interests included golfing, fishing, his yard, walking his dogs and being involved in his grandchildren's lives. Although a quiet man, he was the best neighbor and would do anything for anyone. Words cannot express our gratitude to the incredible staff at George Derby Centre for their love and devotion to Fred over the past 10 months. In keeping with Fred's wishes, a family remembrance has been held and a celebration of his life will take place next summer. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the George Derby Centre.
