Carl J. Helmich Jr. was born on November 20, 1931 and passed away on September 27, 2025 at the Nazareth Home Clifton in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a native of Winston-Salem, NC and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Louisville.

He retired in 2001 after 29 years as a project editor for the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation. He was previously employed in the Moravian Church in America.

Survivors include: sister, Ruth J. Helmich, of Montague, MA; sister-in-law Nancy C. Helmich of Minneapolis, MN; niece Heidi L. Helmich (Gunther) of Hillerod, Denmark; nephew Andrew E. Helmich Jr. (Andrea) of Plymouth, MN; one great niece and two great nephews.

Carl's family would like to express profound gratitude for the network of love and support, which has surrounded him on this final journey: his steadfast friends Dick and Victoria Merkel, Jon Fleshman and Joanne Milo, Greg Hutcheson, Bill Stanley, Pam Stevens and Gail Henson; the caring and compassionate staff at Nazareth Home Clifton and Hosparus; the hospice volunteers; and the congregation of St. Paul United Methodist Church, especially, Pastor Darren Brandon, Sara Ferebee, Glenda Young, Tony Fowler, Larry Beasley, Genie Yockey, Angie Dortch, John and Carol Schultz Nichols, Georganna Dunn and the LOA class and the Chancel Choir who sang Carl onward in his journey.

A Celebration of Life Service for Carl will be held at:

St. Paul United Methodist Church

Louisville, KY 40205

on Tuesday October 14, 2025 at 11:00

Friends are invited to gather from 10:00

A luncheon will follow the service
