Carl Michael Kauffold

Carl Michael Kauffold, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on February 18 at the age of 59. Carl was born on 20 Sept. 1947 in Jackson, Mich. and lived in Kalamazoo, Mich. until he joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 19. He served his country faithfully while raising a family of six children. He was also an active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many capacities. Carl was preceded in death by his father and both of his mothers. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his siblings, Al (Ann) Kauffold, Chris Kauffold, and Vicki Dunn; his children, Curt (Kari) Kauffold, Sandi (Robert) Anderson, Daryl (Heather) Kauffold, Dan (Elizabeth) Kauffold, Karyn (Joel) Lowther, and Kevin Kauffold; and 11 grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Saturday, 24 February from 9:00-10:00 am, followed by a service from 10:00-11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 633 S. Higley (between Broadway and Southern Ave.). Carl will be buried in the United States National Cemetery in Phoenix. Arrangements are being made by the Bunker Family Funeral Home.
