Koch, Carl Age 50. Extraordinary person, died on May 28, 2014. Visitation from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, Carl would have loved donations to the Carl Koch Family Memorial Fund, to help his family, including his daughters' overseas community development work. I knew Carl because of a shared love of animals, specifically reptiles and amphibians. We met perhaps ten years ago, when he and I were both members of the now-defunct Milwaukee Area Society of Herpetologists (MASH), and went out looking for critters several times.

Carl had an amazing amount of energy, a tireless drive to find critters, and I always felt pushed and challenged on the several occasions when we field-herped together. A far more dedicated and ambitious field herper than I am, he was therefore rewarded with many notable finds over the years. He loved these animals, and his love and energy were contagious; herping with him was a shot in the arm for sure.

My thoughts are with those who knew him best, his students and of course his family and close friends.

I'll be herping in your memory this weekend, Carl.

I was blessed to serve as Carl's ensemble director, classroom professor, applied studio teacher, and advisor during his undergraduate years at Lawrence University in Appleton. This talented gentleman was an outstanding performer, composer, and as hundreds of fortunate Carl Koch students can attest, an inspiring teacher. Carl was always respectful, thoroughly dedicated, and a person of great heart. I extend my prayers to his wonderful wife Stacie and their daughters. Rest in Peace, old friend.

Again, my deepest sympathies go out to the Koch family. Our community lost a great man and many hearts are broken. Stacie, I will never forget the words you and your Pastors spoke at the service yesterday evening. I praise God that you were able to encourage the many who mourn with you in the midst of your own profound sorrow. It meant so much to me that our daughter heard you speak the truth in love and that you were ready, as we are told to be, to give a reason for the hope that you have! To Him be the glory and may He continue to hold and comfort you in the days to come. God is good and His love endures forever, as will the love Carl gave to all who knew him!

Now a greater part of me resides in heaven. My friend, my brother, Carl. I will ever miss your crooked smile, and how you soldiered on through times as difficult as this. Until we see each other again, and dance on streets of gold, singing with all our might to Him who bought our salvation. To God be the glory. All my love to my adopted family, Bobby

My condolence to the Carl Koch Family. I will miss his smiles!

Stacie would send us a photo of the family at Christmas every year and Carl always had a HUGE smile, almost as if he would burst, as if he wanted to make it even bigger. That's how he always was in person, with a HUGE smile when he saw you.
He was an incredible person who couldn't help but impact people. We will truly miss him and look forward to worshipping with him in heaven!

Mr. Koch.. While I was in High School he was an instructor.
He had a way with communicating to his students without frustration when I was being "a child." He would talk to me, like an adult and encourage me in ways I didn't even realize.. Next thing I knew I was not being a problem child anymore (for that day at least) and I was doing what I was supposed to do! I will always remember Mr. Koch for the amazing teacher he is, loving Father and his Faith! RIP

As a superintendent in the Cudahy Schools for several years, I was proud to support the band program. Carl, like his colleagues, brought an extraordinary gift to students who wanted to have the joy of music as part of their lives. Carl's contributions were profound. We are all blessed to have known Carl, to have worked with Carl and to have witnessed the joy of music and life that Carl brought to so many students. He's in our hearts forever.

Working with Carl and having two of my children take brass lessons from him just verified my respect for him, his talent, his family, and his faith. Carol Anderson , Lincoln School

I worked, laughed, and prayed with Carl. He was a great friend and mentor. I enjoyed our hike in the Kettle Moraine area. He put a smile, sort of, on my son's face as he held a snake. I look forward to the day I get to see him again in heaven!

Mr. Carl Koch served his Lord well by serving the children that he taught.
His genuine concern for each and every student that he taught was quite evident.
As the director of the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps, I had several opportunities to both meet and work with Carl.
We helped each other out several times for the benefit of his students as well as ours.

One time, in particular, was when Pioneer had an open house community concert at the South Milwaukee P.A.C. We had different groups perform. The Cudahy Middle School Band performed, and who was right in the middle of that band playing tuba? You guessed it! It was Carl Koch. He was not only a band director to these kids, but also a positive role model, not only for them, but for all of us to emulate.
So long for now Mr. Koch. We will see you in Heaven!

Carl was a man who loved Jesus. He showed it everytime he led Grace Community Church in worship to the One true God. Carl impacted so many lives for the Kingdom of God. I am thankful to have known Carl and to have been able to serve with him at GCC. I can't wait to see him again when I get home to Heaven.

What a wonderful person. Always smiling. My favorite memory of Carl was the fanfare that he would play at the award's ceremony for the students at ParkView School. He always made the kids feel special. My sympathies to his family.

The music in heaven has just gotten sweeter with the addition of Carl. Because of him many children have enjoyed his many loves, from the music he taught to the knowledge reptiles he shared with his many students. Many memories have been made for them all to keep. May his family find comfort in knowing that he has touched many lives and a piece of him will always live on.

Carl Koch was an amazing, caring man that holds a very special place in my sons life. My son Ryan had the honor of being one of Mr Kochs band students for the last few years. Ryan always loved band days because he said Mr Koch made learning music "fun". Everyone has that one teacher they will never forget because they touched their heart so deeply and Mr Koch was definitely one of those teachers for a lot of students. Thank you Carl Koch from the Strube family, you will be greatly missed.

Carl was my son's band teacher and he will be greatly missed. He taught my son to love and enjoy band. I loved going to his concerts and listening to all the songs he arranged for them. I hope his family can find peace in knowing how many lives he touched! The Chappell Family
