Carl S. Lazaroff, age 82 of Jackson Township, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Rose Lane Health Care Center. Carl was born on February 23, 1930 in Massillon the son of the late Steve and Pesha (Steve) Lazaroff. Carl was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1948 graduate of Washington High School. He was a U.S. National Guard veteran serving our country during the Korean War in the 37th Infantry Division. Carl worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as an accountant retiring in 1992 after 37 years of service. He also taught accounting at Hammel-Actual College in Akron. He was secretary/treasurer of The Counsel on Employee Benefits (a Fortune 500 compensation and benefits organization) for at least 20 years. Carl was also a 34 year member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son James Russell Lazaroff in 1974, his brothers, Paul, Gust & Vasil Lazaroff and his sister Marie Lazaroff. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Marlene L. (Zarnke) Lazaroff with whom he would have shared 60 years of marriage on June 4, 2012; his son, Mark (Ilka-Ulrike) Lazaroff of Clifton, VA; and his grandchildren, Timothy and Daniel Lazaroff. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16th, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at St. Jacob Lutheran Church: 8697 Mudbrook Rd NW, Massillon, OH 44646. Pastor Lynn Williamson will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either St. Jacob Lutheran Church or Crossroads Hospice. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.arnoldlynch.com.
