Don, Cathy and family,
The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God. ~Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994

I was saddened to hear of your father's passing, I was just asking about your parents Saturday while visiting my sister. Growing up next door to your family were some of my best memories. Your parents were always there whenever I needed anything, always so kind, friendly & generous. My heart & prayers are with all of you & your families during this difficult time.

Dear Don and family, I'm so saddened to hear about the passing of your beloved dad. People say things like "he (or she) had a good, long life," and every time I hear that, I think about how it's harder in some ways to lose a loved one who was in your life a very long time. My prayers go out to you all. May God hold Himself especially close to you at this sad time.

The first thing that comes to my mind is his stories but also his laugh that would follow one of his funny stories. He got a kick out of his stories too no matter how many times he told them. I also have a very clear image of Carl and Naomi sitting in folding chairs around a fire at the cottage.
