Carl J. "Pete" Mogel, 90, husband of Mae S. (Godshall) Mogel, Sanatoga Ridge Community, Pottstown, PA, died Saturday, August 9, 2025, at home.

Pete was born on February 28, 1935, to the late Alvin S. and Ellena M. (Frankenberg) Mogel, in Limerick, where he lived most of his life. He was a 1952 graduate of Pottstown High School.

He was employed by Richard Kelly Builder of Betzwood, PA for many years. Before retiring in 1997, Pete was a self-employed carpenter and building contractor.

Pete was a lifelong active member of St. James United Church of Christ, Limerick, where he served as consistory president, was a member of the building and property committees, and sang in the choir. He was an active member of the Great Strides Relay For Life team in Pottstown for many years. He was a member of the Limerick Fire Company. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, bird watching, traveling with Mae, and was an avid puzzler.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Pete is survived by his children, David, Karen, and John, husband of Angela (Brown); his grandchildren, Matthew, Alicia, Amy and Ana; his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ryan, Angelina and Alayna; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Alvin, M. Elva Starkey, Harry, Doris Frain, Joyce Detwiler, and Kenneth.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at St. James United Church of Christ, 321 S. Limerick Road, Limerick, PA 19468, with the Rev. Beth Eustis, Pastor, officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. Inurnment will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Church of Christ or the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, www.dementiasociety.org. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe, PA.
