Memorial services for Carl Rex Morton, 84, of Etoile, Texas, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Etoile United Pentecostal Church, with Brother Glenn Morton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. Carl was born April 20, 1930 in Etoile, Texas, the son of the late Ottis and Effie Bell (Crawford) Morton. He passed from this life on Monday, March 2, 2015 in a Lufkin hospital. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Carl and Margaret were happily married for 65 years. Carl was retired from Lipton Tea Company after 35 years of service. He had a passion for bowling, and he and his wife traveled all over the country for tournaments. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Morton; daughter, Patricia Saunders and husband Paul; granddaughter, Jessica Schroder and husband Scott; grandson, Kenneth Saunders; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Frances Adkison; and brothers, Preston (Buddy) Morton and Fred Wendall Morton. Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
