Carl Schlenker Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun on Dec. 9, 2006.
SCHLENKER _ CARL VOLKER AUGUST 24, 1947 - NOVEMBER 30, 2006 It is with profound sadness that Carl's family shares the news of his passing. Born in Schwenninger Germany, Carl immigrated to Canada in 1953. He grew up in Winnipeg, where many people will remember his smile. His career began at Kramer Tractor in Regina and in the few short years he lived there his friends and family gave him countless reasons to smile. Carl and family moved to Edmonton where he joined R. Angus, later to become part of Finning Canada. His easy smile and outgoing personality enlarged his circle of friends. Work took Carl and his family to Vancouver and true to his nature he enjoyed the fellowship of many wonderful friends. Carl touched the lives of many people around the world, because he was one of those truly great guys some of us are lucky to know. Carl: son, husband, father, best friend. You will be loved forever. A private celebration of Carl's life will be held on December 16, 2006. Donations to The Parkinson's Society in lieu of flowers.
