Michelle,
Probably more than 30 years passed. Different forks in the road. My loss.
Sorry to learn of your father's passing. I will always remember the courtesy your family extended to me, and that the calm & peace they seemed to instill in you -- helped me through some very turbulent times.
I remember reading some while back that you were in California, married & raising a family. I'm sure you are doing a fine job, with much to be proud of.
As it turns out, two of my brothers became steamfitters, and pretty sure they were in your father's union. Over the years when I came back to Pittsburgh, I went to at least 3 or 4 of those Steamfitter picnics at Kennywood. If your father ever attended those, I probably shook his hand a couple or few times, and didn't even realize it.
I hope there is something that can uplift you on this solemn occasion. It's been almost 24 years to the day since my father passed. He is STILL so alive in my heart! I believe (spiritually) that the deserving DO go to a more wonderful place... and that like my father... you're father is alive there... and happy.
Proverbs 27:17 is pert-near the most concise way I remember my dad. Maybe it will work for you.

Vickie, I am sorry to hear about Carl. I remember talking with him when I would visit my parents. I would look out the window to see if your garage door was open and he would be out there. I liked hearing about his motorcycle adventures. Your neighbor, George Speer

Vicki, sorry to hear about Carl. I always enjoyed talking with him, when he was in the garage and I was home visiting my folks. I would look out the window and see if the garage door was open, hoping he was there and would tell me of his motorcycle adventures. Your neighbor George Speer
