Snell, Carl Truman
quietly left this earth for his Heavenly Home on February 7, 2010. He was born November 23, 1919 in Springfield, IL, grew up in Taylor, AZ, proudly served with the U.S. Army during WWII as a T-4 Sergeant, returned to Milwaukee, WI to marry his true love, then moved his young family from Milwaukee to Phoenix, AZ in 1952. He worked as a mechanic for AZ. Dept. of Transportation for 26 years, after which he and his wife traveled the USA in their motor home. Carl was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Beatrice A. (Ortmann) and is survived by two sons, Richard Allen Snell and wife Pamela, and Jeffery Carl Snell and wife Linda; 3 grandchildren, Mark Snell, Tracy Skelton, Lana Barkley, and 10 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, family and friends with whom he created many fond memories of camping, hunting, fishing, baseball, scouting, story-telling and celebrating life. He was a longtime and dedicated member of American Legion Post 1, Dept. of Arizona. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale. Funeral services 10am Friday, February 12, 2010 also at the funeral home. Interment Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale.
