Carl and I were very close at St. Vincents Hospital during residency and his courtship of your mother, then during our years together in Garden City. I saw Carl last in a hospital visit in Palm Beach in January of this year and knew then that he was seriously ill. He wsthe most interesting and intelligent friends I ever had and I will miss him significantly and most sadly. Andy McGowan '54

To Christina, Carl & Gretchen,

We all enjoyed some wonderful life experiences during our early childhood together on St. Paul's Place/Crescent .Your Father definitely lived life to the fullest degree possible and shared his energy with those around him. He loved life!

One of the last times I saw both your parents was in Spring 2001 when they would visit the Tuscan Steak restaurant on 4oth & 3rd Ave in NYC. I was the Wine Director and Manager. They were in the neighborhood when they initially visited and were happily surprised I was working there. Your dad returned a couple of times because he liked that he knew I was there. We shared some great conversations together.

That summer I left that restaurant to help turn around another restaurant
offf Union Square only to experience 9/11 (where I lived) and lost my job & apt. In January 2002 I decided to switch over to Fine Wine Consulting and before starting my new role I visited my cousin Stacie in Durango, CO and she surprised me with an awesome dog sled ride with Gretchen and her husband Gregg. WoW what an incredible life experience that was, amazing and such a blessing at that time in my life.

I wanted to send love to you all, your father is in our thoughts and prayers, may he be in heaven with your mom this very moment. He touched so many lives and made a difference in so many patients lives.
God bless your family and may he live on in our memory for many years to come.

Love,
