Ricky Sticko Steed...Wichita Falls friend for life. His family was my family. A talented artist as a child and grew it to gigantic proportions. The for aces...Ricky, Jimmy Rhodes, Jim and Jack Cox. We lived the Texas dream as children. I miss Sticko every day. He was my friend.

So much to tell...too little time.

My belated condolences. I knew Rick as a Fraternity Pledge Brother at Sigma Nu when he attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona (not ASU). Quite the personality with a continual 'ear to ear' smile and enjoyed the pranks.

I did not know Rick personally. But a very dear friend of mine was friends with him, and I know how much he meant to her. Rick's influence extends beyond the people that he knew, and into the people that are two degrees of separation from him.

My sincere condolences to the 1st degree friends and family. I wish I had the opportunity to have met such a wonderful person.

But what a wonderful legacy to leave; to be mourned by people who did not even know you. Rest well, good sir. You will be missed.

So many fun stories about Rick! Many years ago, Rick, Kenny, Marilyn and I went to Vegas. The Steeds were going to be sure I knew how to play Craps and Blackjack. Rick was hot on the tables. He couldn't lose. Late in the evening, with a big grin, he grabbed a white tablecloth and wrapped it around his head, then placed a huge chocolate strawberry in the front. He had transformed into "The Swami." We went in and out of all the big clubs and everyone loved Rick. He carried energy and excitement. He was a fun and wonderful guy, also very talented in art, writing and guitar. We'll miss him and always remember him.

My heart is heavy with sadness on the loss of a dear friend. You are missed, more so with every moment. Peace and comfort to the Steed family. In honor of Rick, I will drink a Budweiser tonight and I will remember the many blessings he shared with me.

I have fond memories of the backgammon games played with Rick over the years. I will miss those times, but not the money lost after he "cleaned my clock".
I would see Rick maybe three to four times a year, but when I did he made me feel as if I was his closest friend. What a wonderful quality.
