Carlos Arizmendis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 25, 2025.
Carlos Hector Arizmendis, 53, passed away May 4, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born August 27, 1970 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Sonia (Garza) and Ciro Arizmendis, Carlos grew up in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and lived a life marked by dedication, skill, and an unwavering commitment to those he cared about.

After graduating from San Benito High School and attending Texas State Technical Institute in Harlingen, Carlos proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1990 to 1998. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and loyalty - qualities that remained with him throughout his life. Following his service, he pursued multiple technical and vocational certifications, demonstrating his passion for learning and mastery of various trades. In addition to his training in AutoCAD and Computer Programming from TSTI in Harlingen, Carlos earned a diploma with distinction in Network Engineering and Management from Computer Learning Centers, Inc. in Anaheim, CA as well certification in Prinergy 4 from the Kodak Training Facility in Rochester, NY.

With over 25 years of experience as an automotive technician specializing in foreign, domestic, and exotic vehicle diagnostics, repair and maintenance, Carlos was known for his expertise and meticulous attention to detail. His career also spanned roles in digital pre-press, network administration, graphic design, systems administration, information technology, and over-the-road material handling. His diverse professional background reflected his adaptability and drive to excel in every endeavor he undertook.

Beyond his professional achievements, Carlos had a deep love for hobbies that brought him joy and connection with others. He enjoyed bowling and billiards, exploring historic places and discovering new destinations, movies, music, antiques, and online gaming. His enthusiasm for these activities was matched by his generous spirit and willingness to share his knowledge.

Carlos is deeply missed by his wife, Sandy (King) Arizmendis; his daughter Adriana Arizmendis; several siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father as well as several aunts, uncles, and other family members.

Those who knew Carlos remember him as compassionate, loyal, generous, and funny - a man whose presence brought warmth and joy to many. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind.

A light went out on Earth for me the day we said goodbye
And on that day, a star was born, the brightest in the sky
Reaching through the darkness with its rays of purest white,
Lighting up the heavens as you once lit up my life.
So when tomorrow starts without you
I won't think we're far apart,
For every time I think of you
You're right here in my heart

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear.
