EILEEN MARY HINTZ

EILEEN MARY HINTZ, 94, formerly from Decatur, Ind., died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Carmel Health and Living in Carmel, Ind. A retired bookkeeper at IR&W and Phelps Dodge Credit Union, Eileen later became President. Along with her husband, Bill, she served in leadership for many years with the Fort Wayne Sports Club and its Women's Auxiliary during which time they helped found the annual Fort Wayne Germanfest. Eileen and Bill were also one of 14 couples who founded Lake Luther Bible Camp near Angola, Ind. In Carmel, Ind., she was active in Pilgrim Lutheran Church's Brail and Large Print ministries and enjoyed helping whenever she could. She especially enjoyed teaching her grandchildren baking, sewing and the gospel. Surviving are her son, Daniel (Nancy) Hintz; and three grandchildren, Jessica, Vanessa and Alexander. Service will be held in person and online at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pastor Heidi Schwerdtfeger - Jones will be officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Million Meal Movement in Indianapolis or Lutheran Social Services of Indiana.
