Carmen Siem Obituary
Carmen S. Swindell was born October 30, 1928, in Davenport, a daughter of Edward Swindell and Della (Morris) Swindell-Hamilton. She was united in marriage to Arthur Siem on January 2, 1951, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death June 18, 1993.
Carmen retired from the former Northwestern Bell Telephone Company after over 37 years of service. She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Telephone Pioneers of America.
Survivors include her son, James Edwin Siem, Davenport; and her grandchildren, Erin E. Siem, and her fiancé, Daniel Wengerhoff, both of Chicago, Bradley J. Siem, Rock Island, Heather Lueders, Eldridge, Iowa, and Justin Siem, Davenport; as well as, three great-grandchildren, and her cousin, Mary Hassett, of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur, and a son, John.

Jim and Family- I have many memories of both of your parents and especially your mom. As a young girl and teenager I spent many hours at that end of 18th street talking to her and learning many things. I have also heard many stories of your mom and family, through my older brothers and sister, of the time they had growing up as neighbors. God Bless you and your family and all of Carmens family and grandchildren.

So sorry to read of Carmen's passing. I can still remember as children--neighbors and friends--visiting each others homes as we raised our children--and then working together at Northwestern Bell until I transferred to Fla. Jim--Thank you for taking such good care of your Mom these last years. God bless you!

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the passing of Carmen. She was such a friendly, warm and wonderful lady. I had the pleasure of working with her and Art @ AT&T. I always remember Art dressing up and playing Santa for the telephone operators @ Christmas. They were a Great couple...always thoughtful and kind to everyone...bless their hearts!!!
