Carol Sue Belanger S.F.O.

Obituary...Rochester...Carol Sue Belanger S.F.O., 55, of 616 Portland Street, died Sunday, May 15, 2005 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, following a long illness.

She was born in Exeter on May 13, 1950, the daughter of Sanford Meekins, Sr. and Alice Waldron. She had lived in the Exeter area , prior to moving to Rochester approximately 15 years ago.

Carol worked as an operating room technician at Exeter Hospital for over 15 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, being involved in the prayer group for many years. In 2001, she joined the Secular Order of Franciscans. She was a sponsor of a child, Shanna, in Jamaica, through the Christian Foundation for Children and the Aging.

Surviving family members include her children, Josh A. Belanger and Cindy Belanger, both of Rochester; a sister, Betty Randlett of Exeter; Aunt Lois and “Pa” Uncle George Nelson; two cousins, Jackie Emerson and Cheryl Boyko of Somersworth; a nephew and cousins. She also leaves two special sisters in Christ, Diane Ficco S.F.O. of Farmington and Linda Strohecker S.F.O. of Lebanon, Me, along with all her brothers and sisters in Christ in the Secular Franciscan Fraternity of St. Michael and the Nine Choir of Angels in Rochester, NH.

Visitation at H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
