Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 19, 2017.
Carol Reid Buck died on March 19th at the age of 89 at Country House in Wilmington Delaware. Born and raised in Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, she was a graduate of Springfield High School. She received a bachelor degree from the University of Rhode Island. Her career as an executive assistant at the Du Pont Company spanned more than 30 years. She met her husband Frank H. Buck Jr. while working at Du Pont. They lived in both Wilmington and Lewes Delaware. Carol was a passionate advocate for animal welfare and a devoted caretaker of many dogs throughout her life. She was particularly fond of Labrador Retrievers. She was a veracious reader and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. She was also a member of the Lewes Garden Club. She will be buried next to her husband Frank in a private memorial service outside Lewes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Delaware SPCA, Sussex Chapter.

I so enjoyed my conversations and friendship with Carol over the years after Frank and my Mother, Patsy passed away. We shared a love of labs...
She supported me in my moving efforts having gone through the downsizing process to move back to Wilmington form Lewis. She was a strong lady with great warmth, character and integrity. I miss her.
