Carol Channon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 10, 2013.
"The Rosebud"
Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and wife, Carol Rose Dallof Larsen Channon, passed away at her home on March 5, 2013 of natural causes. Carol was born January 4, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert Burr and Margaret Garrett Dallof.
She married Malcolm Jess Channon on March 17, 2001. She graduated from Murray High School in 1969 and was a member of the LDS Church. She was a vibrant Young Women's President; Laurel's leader, and ward camp director. Carol was always thinking of others and looked for ways to be of service. Her homemade bread and sugar cookies were always an anticipated treat by family, friends, and neighbors. She was well known for her beautiful crocheted Afghans, cross stitched handiwork, and her creative holiday plastic canvas creations. She enjoyed playing hymns on the piano, as well as singing and playing groovy sixties songs on her guitar. Her grandchildren were the highlight and treasures of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Malcolm; two children: Jeannie (Buddy) Rowland and Jeremy Larsen; five grandchildren (Mikayla, Rylee, Lauryn, Tommie, and James Rowland); two stepchildren: Matthew (Karan) Channon and Melanie (Mike Newman) Channon and four step-grandchildren (Marcus and Rhea Channon and Nathan and Ashton Brown); four brothers: Burr (Lois), "The Warren" (Jodi), Kelly, and David (Amy); and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents.
A viewing will be Monday, March 11, 2013 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Copperview 2nd Ward, 12210 South 2700 West, Riverton, Utah. Funeral services will immediately follow. Internment is at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road.

Though she was unable to live the last part of life in a way that truly reflected the beautiful life within her heart, I want to honor the amazing lady that shared with me her gifts and talents of creativity, service and love.
Mom, I know even though you're not here with us on Earth, you'll never leave us. I know that you are now healthy, happy, and strong. It is a privilege to be your daughter and I look forward to seeing you again. I love you!

Dear Family,
Always the life of the party, Carol made her mark in Murray during her school years! My family lived in the same ward and neighborhood and I enjoyed going to school with this amazing lady. I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. Too young for sure!

You may not remember me, Carol Robinson Butler, but I lived just down the street from the Dallof's and used to tend Burr and Carol. In reading Carol's obituary, she sounds so like her mother who was my MIA leader--always full of so much fun and energy! I'm truly sorry for Carol's passing. I'm sure she will be missed a lot.
