Carol Dewire Obituary
Carol graduated from Taft High School in 1960 and married her beloved husband Robert in 1963. After raising her children Renee and Brian, Carol went to work for Lions Clubs International, which allowed her to travel across the globe, fostering her love of travel and of learning all about new places and people. Retirement allowed her to enjoy boating with the PGI Mariners and additional travel to new destinations, enriching her life and those around her with her experiences and stories.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Dewire; son, Brian Dewire and his wife Cathy Dun; daughter, Renee Dewire and her husband James Domino; grandchildren, Travis Dewire (Lindsey Winburne), Dylan Dewire, Collin Domino, Jasper Domino, and Quentin Domino; great-grandchildren, Koda, Ivy, and Presley Dewire. Carol also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Karen Ptak, and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and a large circle of friends across Florida, Arizona, and Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester B. and Irene J. (Makarewicz) Ptak, and her siblings, Dorothy Cortese, Chester Ptak (Magda), and Thomas Ptak.
Carol will be remembered through the love and kindness she shared with her family and friends. She possessed a nurturing spirit and provided an unwavering support system that offered her loved ones both strength and comfort. Carol will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing her.
In her memory, those grieving are encouraged to celebrate her life and the countless cherished moments shared with her. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity in support of women's healthcare research, such as Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation. In the alternative, please consider a charity in support of dementia or aphasia research and support services, such as the Dementia Society of America.

A visitation and prayer service will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Meldrum Mortuary, located at 52 N Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201.
A memorial service will be held in Punta Gorda, FL during the first week of October. Exact date to be determined.

I am truly sad that you are not with us anymore. There are things here and there that remind me of you and I can't help but break down in tears. But despite the sadness, I'm comforted with the fact that somewhere above in the heavens, you're not in pain anymore. I will miss the times you've come to visit us, our talks, and going to dinners together. Your generosity, funny quirks, and zest for life will be remembered. Thank you for being a great Grandma to Dylan, and for being my 2nd Mom figure.
