Vernon Ralph Dennis Sr.

LAWRENCEBURG - Vernon Ralph Dennis Sr, 81, of Lawrenceburg, died Thu, April 16, 2009 at his home after an illness. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was a 60 year member and past master of Beaver Creek Lodge #335, Order of the Eastern Star, Hamilton Chapter #293, Scottish Rite Bodies, Oleika Shrine, and served as past Grand Patron for the state of Kentucky. He served as magistrate of Anderson County and also served on Planning and Zoning. He attended Western High School until being drafted in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma Taylor Dennis, Lawrenceburg; 2 sons, Ralph Dennis, Jr, and his wife, Nancy, Lawrenceburg, and Jarel Dennis, and his wife, Darlene, Versailles; 2 grandchildren, Denise Myers, and her husband, James, and Vernon Ralph "Chip" Dennis III, both of Lawrenceburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Denise Dennis Dalton; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services 2pm Sun at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bros. Bobby Chesser and John McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation 3-9pm Sat, and after 8am Sun. Masonic and Eastern Star Rites will be held at 8pm on Sat.
