Carol Golder Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 12, 2023.
Carol Mae Golder, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep, December 14, 2022. Carol was born on November 28,1937, to Fred and Pearl Bohl in Canon City, Colorado. She was one of 5 children; Elsie Pollard, Helen Payne, Harlen Bohl, and Marilyn Matthews, who preceded her in death. In 1961, Carol married Glenn Golder, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her two children, Gary Golder (Shannon) and Julie Hawthorne (Mark); 5 grandchildren: Peggy, Jennifer, Glenn (Nichole), Erin (Luke), and Rachel; 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A discerning woman with exquisite taste, who loved to cook. She provided comfort and solace to any who might need it, while asking little in return. Carol held a variety of positions throughout her life to include working at Canon Floral, leasing and operating several gas stations in Colorado Springs, as well as managing the family restaurant in Buena Vista. Later in life she moved to Denver to manage an apartment building, before returning to Canon City to care for her parents. She also had fond memories from working at the Elks Lodge and Seniors Inc. She was an excellent cook who loved to golf and ride on the back of Glenn's Harley Davidson motorcycle. Carol was a great listener who was willing to provide an ear and comfort to whoever needed it. She always maintained a "never give up" attitude towards life. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. She will forever be in our hearts.
