CAROL GUBER Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 13, 2016.
GUBER--Carol.

Dear Noah and the extended Guber and Tuttleman families, "Sometimes people leave you halfway thru the woods" and with Carol gone, there is less frivolity, laughter and joy in our respective worlds. This passing wasn't the way it's supposed to happen. No aging, no heads-up, no warning - just suddenly there's no Carol! What an awful loss we have all suffered. We mourn with you and extend our deep felt condolences. Although we are in England, our hearts are with you... and with Carol's soul. Cousins Myrna and Freddie Gershon

i was just thinking of reaching out to carole and found this news. time flies! i knew carole when she was in philadelphia at the est center and at new wave foods her chic "to go" lunch spot on rittenhouse square. we continued to be friends when i moved to san francisco. id see her in nyc and san francisco whenever we'd be in the same city. we shared the love of fashion, jewelry, art, great food, therapy, mental health and belly laughs. she was inspirational. a true beauty - who could stop traffic. a dear friend - we would laugh till we cried and cry together if we felt like it as well. and those sparkly aquamarine blue eyes - piercing, lovely and powerful. you contributed so greatly to the world. thank you touching my life. i will never forget you. hugs, kisses and love alfredo

I knew Carol in her role as a wonderful therapist At The Training Institute for Mental Health. What I will remember most is not her skill but her beautiful eyes and wonderful laugh. A great loss for the world.

After Carol took over from me as Center Manager in Philadelphia, I was still leading graduate seminars. There was a participant in one of my seminars who seemed very off-kilter and had started sending me flowers and notes telling me he was going to marry me. I found out he even went so far as to find my father in Kansas and called him and told him he was going to marry me. I had never had to deal with anyone like this before, and I was deeply bothered by how to approach it. I went into Carol to talk to her about it. I told her the whole story and asked her what did she think I should do. Carol tilted her dead down and looked at her desk for what seems like a very long 5 seconds. Finally she looked up at me with those piercing blue eyes and said "First, get a ring." This sent us both into gales of laughter. It is my fondest memory of this witty and brilliant woman. I am so sorry for your loss. She has made a difference in the world that has rippling effects far beyond anything we will know.

To the Guber family, Zev and Heidi and Carol's beautiful nieces, to Noah Schactman and his family, to the Tuttleman families and the Sparkes families: all of you are in Carol's closest circle. My heart is heavy and my love goes out to you all. Peace.

I am so sad that our Carol has passed so soon, way before her time. She is an amazing person, someone I will always think of with love and admiration. A great boss, a loyal friend, funny, kind, generous. Carol was a lover of music, art, beauty and could find and bring it out in any of us. I send my sincere sympathy to her loving family and host of friends. Rest in Peace, Carol, the love you inspire here will never end. Love knows no boundaries, not even death.

I was blessed in knowing Carol as "Shelly's pretty and fun loving sister", since Shelly now Zev was my brother's buddy all through elementary school to today. What was most memorable was their total devotion to one and another and with that a totally devoted eternal love as brother and sister. This incredible bond will live on forever in their hearts and in their souls. How very lucky they were to be so blessed and to have that forever link through eternity. May Beautiful Carol rest in peace knowing that she left an incredible legacy for all to emulate and to admire. I know I did ....
Thanks, Carol.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in this verse: This is my comfort in my affliction, for your own saying has preserved me alive... May your loving kindness serve, please, to comfort me, according to your saying to your servant. - Psalm 119:50,76
