Carol Healy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 26, 2025.
Carol Healy, 85, of Duluth, MN, passed away on July 15, 2025. She was born on October 24, 1939, in St. Paul, MN to Edward and Bernice Davis.

Carol was a devoted spouse, loving parent, and cherished friend. She loved living near Lake Superior and was amused and entertained by the birds and animals who frequented their beautiful back yard. She was eternally empathetic and charitable for those who face considerable challenges while finding their way in life.

Carol retired after a lengthy career with Lake County MN Social Services department. She served on the Library Board in Two Harbors then proceeded to read almost every book ever written.

She was a good golfer who rarely golfed, a formidable powder puff hockey player, and eventually surrendered to family members and joined them as an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings with her favorite player being CJ Ham who attended Duluth Denfeld high school. She loved to dance but her husband, once nicknamed "the Dancing Bear," barely danced.

Carol was an outstanding baker who excelled at embedding sugar in cookies, cakes, frostings, tomato sauce, and rice krispy treats. She also developed a reputation for her outstanding home decorating skills.

Finally, our wife, mom, and friend was also every dog's best friend as she welcomed and adored the pups who she shared her home and life with-Doobie, Barney, Fluffy, Keylee, and Sadie.

Carol, a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church, is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis, sons Steven, Two Harbors, MN, Larry (Michelle) Southlake, TX, Thomas (Vickie) Highlands Ranch, CO, stepson Michael (Kim), Duluth, stepdaughters Laura Warren, Duluth, and Pam Healy, Scottsdale, AZ, sisters Marilyn Grandmason, Columbia, SC, and Eileen Johnson, Naples, FL, and one grandson-Noah, of Dallas, TX. She was predeceased by her parents, Bernice and Edward.

A private celebration of life will be held at a future date and location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Animal Allies Humane Society, 4006 Airport Rd, Duluth, MN 55811.

Carol will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
