Carol Henderson

Carol C. Henderson, 89, of Colchester CT, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Born on April 7th, 1935 in Westfield, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Bruce Caulkins and Marjorie (keys) Caulkins. Carol attended Westfield High and graduated in 1953. She went on to earn her Associates Degree at Southern Seminary in 1955. Carol married the love of her life, her husband, the late Robert "BO" Henderson on September 7, 1957. They spent over 60 long loving years together building a home and raising a family. Carol enjoyed camping with friends and family at Deer Lake in New Jersey where she met Bo. In later years, she was actively involved in Church activities, primarily the Heat and Eat program and the knitting club at the First Church of Christ in Old Saybrook. Carol found her joy in spending time with her family and friends, those she held closest in her heart. Carol will be greatly missed by her children, Eric Henderson and Theresa of Colchester CT and Corinne Kneeland and Doug of Ivoryton, CT, as well as her 6 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She will also be missed by her sister Elizabeth Kneen of Hillsdale, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol's name to First Church of Christ, Heat and Eat Funeral services will be held at First Church of Christ in Old Saybrook, CT on May 26th at 1 PM Burial of both Carol and Bo will take place immediately following the service in the Memorial Garden and will conclude with a celebration of Life
