Carol Jean Bailey Brooks, age 80, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on February 15, 1945, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Carol Jean was the beloved daughter of Charles Warren Bailey and Helen Elizabeth Bailey, both of whom preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Deborah Bailey Baxter, her children: daughter Lisa Hurley and sons Joseph Brooks and Brent Brooks and their partners. Her family circle extended to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who knew CJ will remember her as funny, spirited, and full of life. Her presence lit up every room she entered, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who loved her.

I miss your beautiful smiling face my dear friend. I will miss being with you in our card club. We had such fun times over the last several years playing games and having lunch. Now you are out of pain and with the Lord, my friend. Rest in peace.

We loved getting together every week when possible for games with her sister and my sister. Those were special times and I miss her. So glad she was able to pass peacefully since she had been put through so much these past few years.
