Carol White Obituary
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas (Tom) Jefferson White III; her sister, Sarah Pickens Waller; and her parents, Harold Henry Pickens and Ruth Champion Pickens. She is survived by her two children, Dr. Suzanne White Howell and Thomas Jefferson (Jeff) White IV; and her four adored grandchildren, Jack Esselstyn Howell, Audrey Grace Howell, Thomas Jefferson (Jay) White V, and Graham Wilson White. A funeral service will be held at Church of the Holy Communion (4645 Walnut Grove Road) at 11 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025. The family will host a reception at the Cheney Fellowship Hall immediately afterward. Her family would appreciate any donations given in her memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).

Miss Pickens was my French teacher at Central High School in the middle 1960s. I remember that she had been considered one of the most beautiful girls in her class while a student there. My friends and I liked her immensely as she was very sweet and patient with us. I recall that when she announced that she would marry and not return to us we were sad. I put together the huge sum of four dollars to give her a silver spoon in her "pattern". I send my sincere condolence to her family for her loss.

So sorry to learn about Carol. I was at Central High School in her class. I also was in Les Passees with her. Carol was such a wonderful and I truly enjoyed knowing her. She was a delight.
